This crash course in beginner Spanish will give you the tools to confidently order at your local taqueria or to fool anyone that you’ve backpacked Latin America for 6-months.
Have you always been curious to learn Spanish but didn’t want to take an expensive 8-week course in a stuffy room after a long day at the office? Well do not fret, in this class you will learn some basics to introduce yourself and to read off any menu like a pro!
This course is really designed to give you a taste (excuse the pun) of what learning Spanish can be like in a modern world. Yes there are several apps and resources on the web, but at the end of the day if you don’t use it you lose it. So let’s use it.
Rebekah Mitter is a renaissance woman whose first exposure to Spanish was learning Mexican slang whilst slinging bagels. At university, she desperately wanted to get a Philosophy degree but her parents worried about future job prospects begged her to reconsider. When she counter-offered to minor in Spanish (which included a semester abroad in Ecuador and travelling Peru & Chile) her parents relented. While being an English teacher to 800 teenage Korean boys she fell in love with a Kiwi who brought her back to Auckland. Since being in NZ, Rebekah has been lucky enough to have a Colombian work friend to whom she is able to have in-depth conversations daily. Rebekah is ready to get back into the classroom to instigate the fun and confidence language learning can provide.
